Cody Teets

Ms. Teets became the Interim President of Regis University on January 1, 2022. Prior to joining Regis, she was a vice president at McDonald’s Corporation. A Regis graduate, she teaches in the business college and has been a Board of Trustee member since 2013.

Karen Riley, Ph.D.

An internationally recognized expert in neurodevelopmental disorders, Dr. Karen Riley joined the Regis community in 2021, previously serving as dean of education at the University of Denver.

salvador aceves

Salvador D. Aceves, Ed.D.

Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

In May 2014, Salvador D. Aceves, Ed.D., was appointed Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, as well as, Professor of Accounting at Regis University. In May 2015, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to this appointment, he served as Associate Vice President for Academic, Financial Planning and Analysis in the Office of the Provost at Fordham University. He held an appointment as Associate Professor of Accounting in the Gabelli School of Business.

Formerly, Aceves spent six years as Vice Provost at the University of San Francisco (USF), serving as the university’s chief planning and budget officer. He also held a faculty position as Associate Professor of Accounting, teaching in both the School of Business and Management and the School of Law, and was the recipient of five teaching awards. At USF, his office was the 2008 recipient of the Richard Goodman Strategic Planning Award.

Aceves is a reviewer for both the Higher Learning Commission and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. He is on the Board of the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries, a consortium of sixteen libraries located in Colorado and Wyoming. His most recent publication: “Finances: How Can They Reflect the Institution’s Mission and Values?” appears in the Spring 2019 issue of Conversations On Jesuit Higher Education.

Aceves earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a doctoral degree in education with a focus on global business from USF. He also holds a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University. He began his career as a tax associate with Price Waterhouse and served for six years as a tax manager for Citibank.

Kevin F. Burke, S.J.

Vice President, Mission

Rev. Kevin F. Burke, S.J., is the Vice-President for University Mission at Regis and Professor of Theology in Regis College. Fr. Burke first came to Regis shortly after his ordination and served as Associate Campus Minister (1988-1992). He was involved with the Regis Service-Learning Office in its early years and was a co-founder of Romero House.

After Tertianship and Doctoral Studies (1992-1997) he joined the faculty of Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Cambridge, MA (1997-2006) as Assistant/Associate Professor of Fundamental and Systematic Theology. In 2006 he became Dean of the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, CA (2006-12) and Acting President (2008-09). He returned to the faculty of JST-SCU and served as director of the Doctoral Program from 2012-2017.

A member of the Regis University Board of Trustees (2011-2017), Fr. Burke stepped down from that position to become VP for Mission. In this role, he seeks to promote the future of the Jesuit Catholic mission at Regis and extend our sense of mission to our sister schools in the AJCU.

Author or editor of seven books, including The Ground beneath the Cross: The Theology of Ignacio Ellacuría (Georgetown, 2000), Pedro Arrupe: Essential Writings (Orbis, 2004), and The Ignatian Tradition (Liturgical Press, 2006), he is currently writing a book on the theological vision of the poet, Denise Levertov. He chairs the board of directors of the journal, Theological Studies, serves on the board of the Catholic Theological Society of America and the board of trustees of the University of San Francisco.

barbara wilcots

Barbara Wilcots, Ph.D.

Vice President, Student Affairs

Dr. Wilcots joined the Regis community in 2017 after serving as associate dean of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Division, Dean of the DU-Iliff Joint Doctoral Program in the Study of Religion, and associate provost for Graduate Studies at the University of Denver. She holds a Ph.D. in English from DU, an MA in English from Texas Woman’s University, and an MA in Public Relations and a BA in Journalism from Drake University. Her areas of scholarship are 20th Century American literature and literature of the African Diaspora with a special focus on African-American and Caribbean literatures. With a commitment to inclusive excellence, she has engaged in leadership and diversity training as a participant, invited speaker and trainer in workshops and conferences across the United States as well as in the Caribbean, South Africa and Bologna, Italy.

"I sought professional opportunities at Regis because I wanted to serve in a faith-based institution committed to social justice and dedicated to developing in students the tools and determination to make a positive difference in the world. Having held leadership positions in academic affairs, serving graduate, professional, and undergraduate students, my current role as vice president of Student Affairs allows me support the academic and civic formation of all students at Regis. An integral aspect of civic formation is encouraging students not only to confront the social justice issues of our times but also to challenge their own perceptions—to seek the magis, to become the truest version of their best selves and to serve others for the greater good of the world in which we live."


Abby Palsic

Interim Vice President, Advancement

Abby Palsic was named the interim vice president for advancement starting January 2022. She previously was assistant vice president, a position she began at Regis in 2019. She is an experienced higher education leader with over 20 years of experience. As the interim vice president, she advises the President and Board on all matters pertaining to the management and operations of advancement, alumni relations, and advancement services. This includes oversight of all policies and programs related to major and planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, annual giving, special campaign, alumni and parent engagement, and donor stewardship.

Prior to joining Regis University, she served as an assistant vice president in central advancement for the University of Colorado; director of prospect management for the University of Wyoming; director of prospect management and research for the University of Arizona; and associate director of development for the University of Northern Colorado Foundation. She began her career in political campaign fundraising and holds a political science degree from the University of Wyoming.

Chief of Staff

"By the grace of God, I am able to dedicate my current work life to Regis University. Regis has been remarkably important to several generations of my family and the chance to pay my gratitude forward is an incredibly precious gift. After graduating from Gonzaga University, I taught at Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, AZ. From there, I pursued and received my Masters in Science in Renaissance Literature from the University of Edinburgh. After graduate school and my return to the US and Denver, CO, I had the good fortune to join Regis College in the Admissions Office. I left Regis College to teach full time at Regis Jesuit High School.

I left teaching – a profession I have loved above all others – for work-life reasons and joined the non-profit health agency sector. I found my way to Human Resources and after 20+ progressively responsible years with IBM, Comcast and UnitedHealth Group – and 8 cross country and out of country moves – I actively sought an opportunity to return to my extended family, my home town, and secure mission-based, values-centric work. In April 2019, I gratefully and ecstatically rejoined Regis University as the Chief of Staff.
